1ST GRADUATION IN BOTH KENYAN AND FIRETRACK’S HISTORY

In 2014, PCPM, in collaboration with local partners, including Kenya’s main certifying body – TVET, started building a national firefighter education system. 

On 21st June 2024, FIRETRACK and its students enjoyed a historical moment. 

104 candidates graduated with first in Kenyan history national certificates in Fire Fighting Technology Level 3 course and Recognition of Prior Learning process in Fire Fighting Technology Level 4 in Kenya.

This is the summit of a 10-year fire service development program in Kenya, which has been implemented by the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM) in cooperation with the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ “Polish Aid” program.

This event was attended by Dr Wamatangi, the Governor of Kiambu county, County Government officials, Dr Wojtek Wilk, the CEO of PCPM as well as Polish Embassy Representative.

During the ceremony the guests were able to observe the skills acquired by the firefighters as they conducted the drills in Rope rescue, RTA extrication and Emergency Medical Response.

A tree planting session was conducted to commemorate this historical event.
