We are proud to present Firetrack’s summary of 2022 in numbers and achievements:
- Fire and Rescue Training Centre was registered by TVETA as a Technical and Vocational College;
- 3 courses offered (Pump Operator, Water Rescuer and Technical Rescuer) received TVETA licence;
- New fire station in Makindu, Makueni County was completed and commissioned in July;
- Customised Road Traffic Accident/Medical Vehicle was constructed and donated to Makueni County;
- 135 firefighters from 23 counties took part in a cycle of vocational training at level 4 (Technical Rescuer), including:
- 37 trainees from 12 counties attended full-time TVETA-certified training;
- 44 trainees from 22 counties took part in Level 4 training dedicated mainly to the new staff of the Makueni County Fire Department built by PCPM as part of the project;
- 33 recruits participated in a training for newly hired Kiambu County staff;
- 21 firefighters from 5 counties took part in Level 4 Technical Rescue refresher training.
- Construction of the new Fire Station in Kyumbi, Machakos County was commenced in December 2022;
- 4 Polish instructors were certified as full-fledged trainers in Kenya in the field of technical rescue and firefighting;
- 20 Candidates for the first Kenyan firefighting instructor team participated in ToT (Training of Trainers);
- Standard Operating Procedure document for Fire and Rescue Services in Kenya was created;
- Development of the Fire training drill yard at the Firetrack’s ground;
- More than 100 young guests attended fire prevention show on the Children’s Day at the Firetrack;
- Representation of Firetrack took part in the 11th World Urban Forum in Katowice, Poland to promote the project and Centre’s know-how in building fire safety.
